Fire Classification

According to the national standard "Fire Classification", fires are divided into six categories: A, B, C, D, E, and F.
Class A fires: Fires involving solid materials. These materials usually have organic properties and generally produce glowing embers when burning. Examples include fires involving wood, hay, coal, cotton, wool, hemp, and paper.
Class B fires: Fires involving liquid or liquefiable solid materials. Examples include fires involving kerosene, diesel, crude oil, methanol, ethanol, asphalt, paraffin, and plastics.

Class E fires: Fires involving energized electrical equipment. Fires involving burning objects that are energized.
Class F fires: Fires involving cooking appliances containing cooking substances (such as animal and vegetable oils and fats).
